Heron does not use cookies.
The setup page (heron.local) and the dashboard (heron.local) are static web
pages. They do not set cookies, use local storage for tracking, or run any
analytics scripts.
The only data stored in your browser is:
- Setup page: The device serial number is saved in localStorage so you
don't have to re-verify the device if you refresh the page. This is
functional, not tracking. It never leaves your browser.
- Dashboard: Your device's IP address is saved in localStorage so the
dashboard can reconnect after a page refresh. Also functional, also local.
Neither of these is a cookie. Neither is used for tracking, advertising, or
any purpose other than making the software work.
Third-party services
The setup page loads fonts from Google Fonts (fonts.googleapis.com). Google
may log the request. If you want to avoid this, you can set up Heron from a
browser that blocks third-party font requests. The page will fall back to
system fonts and work fine.
The dashboard loads no external resources. Everything runs from your local
network.
Changes
If this changes, we'll update this page. Since we don't track you, we can't
notify you. Check back if you're concerned.
